Rotational Molding
Rotational molding produces
a lighter weight plastic piece with higher strength and fewer stress areas
than any of our other molding processes. The finished parts have uniform
wall thickness without material thinning at extremities, are stress-free,
and totally enclosed.
Process
Description: Powdered plastic and colorants
are added to a closed cavity mold. The mold is heated externally
and rotated at low speed on a two-axis mount to produce hollow
parts with uniform wall thickness.
Manufacturing Capabilities
Capacity: Up to 16 feet dia.
Size: 3 ounces to 1,000 lbs.
Advantages
of Rotational Molding
Economical tooling costs
One-piece construction of complex structures
